She is the creator and co-host of the Exceptional Women radio program, winner of a 33 local and national awards including a record breaking 18 Gracie Allen Awards for excellence in women’s programming. Candy is the recipient of the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association’s Star Award, the Media Hero Award from the American Red Cross and the Boston Women Communicators Legacy Award. Silent Night with Berklee College Jazz prodigy Grace Kelly on Saxphone and Boston Pops pianist and Emmy winning arranger Brad Hatfield. She is committed to the fight against breast cancer and serves as the radio spokesperson for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and the PinkRose Foundation. She serves on the board of the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame and the Boston College Women’s Council. Candy is the president of the Alliance For Women in Media/Boston and is a member of the cast of the Emmy Award winning talent show Community Auditions on WBZ and TV 38.
The proud mother of two, Candy’s son Christopher is a Green Beret candidate, training at the John F. Kennedy School of special Warfare at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Her daughter Colleen is the is an account supervisor for Mullen Advertising in Boston. A single mom for fifteen years, Candy was married in 2006 and has three step children. She and her husband Tom live in Wellesley Hills.
