The Future of the Tea Party

The Tea Party, such as it is, is the most significant and exciting political (and cultural) development in our lifetime.
How and when it grows will impact on you, me, our families soon and maybe for the rest of our lives and beyond.
And it appears to be growing up in a hurry.
At the Tea Party Convention these past few days, gone were the Obama as Hitler signs, old infuriated white men from survivalist groups, and the general amateur hour look and feel the early movement had projected.
The Tea Partiers were calm, realistic, determined: they understand the nature and magnitude of their breathtakingly sudden power - and how to use it.
Not as a Party, but as a Movement.
Not as a top-down, leader-driven, cult of personality but, rather, a universal understanding among American citizens who make the country
work: stop the wild spending, cut my taxes, deal with the terrorists, defend our borders.
And more.
But also less - than a formal political party.
Operate under the radar, and strike in the voting booth.
It is going to be a great party. JS
