Hello Third Party!

Hello, third party!
But not now. Not yet.
Wait for November 3 - because there is increasingly realistic reason to believe that the day before (Tea Party Day, aka Election Day) we are going to witness a political shakeup unseen in American history. An Earthquake. Krakatoa. The Big One. A 100+ seat turnover. Total wipeout.
Gnarly.
And not just for the instantly lame-duck (and maybe soon Impeached?) Obama and his Obamunist Orchestra - but maybe for Republicans, too.
Any 3rd party effort in this election cycle is death: it would split the "contra" vote and re-elect incumbent democrats by the truckload.
Grim.
No, for now, we dump Dems by voting for Repubs. Fact of life.
But wait. Take a look at The Day After: a battleground strewn with the political carcasses of the left to be sure...but also those of both major parties.
If current trends hold (and I believe they will grow) the morning after we vote the landscape will look something like this:
Democrats = 20%
Republicans = 30%
Independent/Tea (i.e. Conservatives) = 45%.
By the time the new Tea Congress is sworn in January, enthusiasm for the new Movement Tea will jump to 60%+, further diminishing (i.e. disabling) the old, dysfunctional traditional parties.
And when it comes to pass that a strong majority of patriotic American voters agree on a constellation of key issues, they don't form a Third Party.
They are The First (i.e. Majority) Party.
So is there a viable 3rd party in our future?
I believe Yes: in 2012 it is absolutely plausible there will be a 3rd party - one that represents an overwhelming majority of the vote.
For the Democrat and Republican parties, it will not be a case of political assassination but, rather, political suicide, richly deserved.
How schweet would you like your Tea?
